Anoop Prasad – Staff Attorney
Anoop is an immigration staff attorney at the Asian Law Caucus. During and following law school, Anoop worked with the Loyola Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice in New Orleans representing people in removal proceedings and challenging the indefinite detention of immigrants. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, he worked on organizing immigrant day laborers and challenging a state law criminalizing driving without proof of immigration status.
For three years prior to joining the Asian Law Caucus, Anoop worked at a private immigration firm in San Francisco representing clients in removal proceedings, before USCIS, and in district court. Anoop is an asylum mentor for the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and National Lawyers Guild.
